Cutie patootie

30 Jul

He is always hands-down delicious, but by jingos Wrigglesworth is even mooore cute in this hand-me-down hoodie that he was given from the irrepressible Sammy Angelo. I took out the camera and I just could not stop clicking. He is just too lovely – especially when giggling with his Papa Bear! Cue the motherly adoration and endless, endless photos…..

Mid winter warmer

24 Jul

So its the winter school holidays here and we thought a jaunt north for some warmer weather was in order. Wellington is one cold beast at the moment.  Our itinerary – Auckland, the Coromandel for a couple of nights at the beach, a wee pop down to see Syleena, Josh and Te Whiti at Katikati for a couple of nights, then back to Auckland and back home. It was pretty awesome.

The Coromandel was lovely. We stayed in Megan’s grandparents stellar bach at Onemana and enjoyed empty beach walks, the wood fire and listening to the not-so-cool Kool FM, on the beat box in the lounge.

Cardiac update

19 Jul

We had a review of Mr Wrigglesworth’s ticker last Monday. He has been getting quite breathless and sweaty so we were keen to make sure he was okay. And he is – his cardiac condition is really stable so that is great, great news. His shunt is working a bit too well in fact, so until he gets bigger he willl be keep getting puffed and sweaty as his lungs are busy oxygenating too much blood.. The doctor was happy with his weight gain, though slow, he is heading in the right direction now and tantalisingly close to 5 kilos.

As for a date for his open heart surgery, its still a wait and see game. They want him to be at least 6kgs and/or to have his oxygen saturation levels down in the 70s. He is 4.85 kgs and his sat levels are around 87%  so we have a long way to go yet. And its not that I want him back in Starship by any stretch of the imagination. But at the same time, this is such a strange hiatus, knowing the inevitable operation is coming but not knowing when.  It will be so great to get it behind us. But yeah, we’ve a wee while to hang out yet.

Clever sausage

1 Jul

Albie has been amazing this week – a real clever wee sausage. He had another weigh in this morning with the nurse, and he has put on even more weight. That means that over the past seven days he has put on 380 grams. Beefy beefy! He was trailing off into the nether regions of the weight graph, threatening to fall right off the bottom of it, so its great to see his weight plotted back on an axis, and back in the first percentile! Here is a photo of Mr Fat Clever Sausage:
