Albie’s birthday parrty was a peach of a day – filled to the absolute brim with family and friends and food and music and love, love, love. Albie was rightly spoiled rotten with chocolate cake and a billion amazing presents. It was the best way to celebrate his first wonderful year.
Celebrate good times!
19 FebParenthood works in mysterious ways. Last year I was amazed that people would create video montages of their cherished little ones to put on youtube. This year I’ve gone ahead and made such a video myself. Wow.
I could say its primary purpose is for Marcus’ family in the UK but, if I am honest, I had an overwhelming desire to string his year together and take a look at it myself. Its been quite the year and I am so, so proud of us getting here.
Albie is awesome, and so is turning one year old. Here’s some of his year for you to enjoy in all its Microsoft pan, zoom and fade glory.
Its ridiculously indulgent, running at 6:44, but it seems there are no taste police in Doting Motherville, not one. Sigh.
The many faces of CHD
6 FebIts Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week in the States from the 7-12th February and CHD Awareness Day right here in New Zealand on Valentines Day. On Pinterest, which is an online pinboard for sharing images, a pinboard of The Faces of CHD has been created. It shares some of the many stories, from some of the many people living with a CHD and links to a number of different blogs. There are now over 150 entries on the board and its growing and growing. As a CHD parent perusing the board, it makes for some pretty moving reading. Its beautiful to read about where kids are at three years, at eight, at ten and as adults – but by jingos, its obvious that Albie has only just begun… one step at a time Sarah. One step at a time.
If you are a CHDer, or parent to a child with a CHD, and would like to share your story too, the details about how to add to this Pinterest board are here.
Lullaby Crocodile
3 FebWell, its just sweet isn’t it? And the video to go with it is pretty great too.
